The Maidstone Town Hall is the only municipal building in Maidstone. It was built shortly after the land was donated to the township in 1952, and has been expanded/renovated twice since 1991. It contains the vault of all official and historical Town documents, the hall where all Town meetings and voting takes place, and all of the Town offices, including that of the Town Clerk, the Town Treasurer, and the Listers.

Records:
The first land record was recorded in 1788. The first Vital Record was recorded in 1768. Building permits issued are available back to 1976 & Grand Lists are available back to 1842. Copies of Land Records are $1.00 per page and Lister Card Information is $.50 per page. Certified copies are available for $10 a copy & informational copies are available based on the set fee schedule. Vault time is $4.00 per hour.
Land Records:
For researching purposes, book indexes are available for records up to Aug. of 1996, at which time card indexes begin. The Maidstone Land Records Portal is online. Here is the link: https://maidstone.lr-1.com/
Vital Records:
Certified copies of birth, death & marriage records that took place within the town are available at Town Hall, by filing an Application for Certified Copy of Vermont Birth or Death Certificate.
Minutes of Meetings:
Selectboard, Board of Civil Authority, and Board of Abatement meeting minute copies are available upon request for $ .50 per page.
Building (Zoning) Permit Applications:
May be obtained at the Town Clerk's Office or can be mailed upon request. The fee is $85.00 to submit a permit application. To appeal a decision, the fee is $102.00. RENEWALS for Vehicle, Snowmobile, and Boat Registration:
Vermont Registration, Tax & Title Applications are available at and may be done at the Town Hall. We do not do new registrations.
Dog Licenses:
Dogs owned by residents must be licensed every year between Jan. 1st & Apr. 1st. Unless other arrangements are made, there will be a penalty for late registration. Dog License Fee Schedule is in Documents.
Green Mountain Passports:
These are available for purchase at the Town Office & offer free admission to senior citizens & disabled veterans to state-sponsored public events, exhibits, concerts, museums & state parks, historical sites & lands. Overnight camping & other park fees are excluded. The cost is $2.00 per passport.
